Configure Print Job to Monochrome in the Printer Driver Setting via Brother Solutions Center

For Windows Printer Driver

  1. Open Printing Preferences: (A) For Windows® 2000 users: Click Start then Settings then Printers and right-click your Brother machine icon and select Properties. (B) For Windows® XP users: Click Start then Printers and Faxes and right-click your Brother machine icon and select Properties. (C) For Windows Vista® users: Click Start button then Control Panel then Hardware and Sound and then Printers. Right-click your Brother machine icon and select Properties. (D) For Windows® 7 users: Click Start button (Start button) then Control Panel then the Hardware and Sound, then click Devices and Printers. Right-click your Brother machine icon and select Printer properties. (E) For Windows ® 8 users: Open the Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound then Devices and Printers then right-click your Brother machine and choose Printer properties.
  2. Choose Mono in Color/Mono.
  3. Click Apply and OK.

For Windows® BR-Script3 printer driver

  1. Open Printing Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Choose Mono for Color/Mono in Printer Features, and click OK.

For Mac OS X CUPS printer driver:

  1. Open Print dialog.
  2. Choose Print Settings from the pane pop-up menu.
  3. Choose Mono in Color/Mono, and click Print.

For Mac OS X BR-Script3 printer driver:

  1. Open Print dialog.
  2. Choose Printer Features from the pane pop-up menu, and choose General 1 (Set 1 for Mac OSX 10.4, available for certain models) for Feature Sets.
  3. Choose Mono in Color/Mono, and click Print.
